Wolverine, the 5’3” adamantium-infused super soldier is one of the most popular figures in the Marvel comic books. His complex personality, tragic past, and fierce abilities have resonated with audiences for decades. Although born as James Howlett, Wolverine later adopts the name Logan.
Wolverine’s childhood starkly contrasts what we know of him today. Little James was a frail and sickly child born to wealthy landowners, John and Elizabeth Howlett. However, tragedy struck the family when John was killed by their groundskeeper, Thomas Logan who James later discovers is his real father. Filled with rage, James’s mutant abilities awaken and lead to him killing his biological father.
Now, going by the name of Logan, he embarks on a journey fleeing his past. As a soldier, mercenary, and operative, Logan took part in multiple global conflicts such as the World Wars and the Vietnam War. Each battle added to the legend of the beast we know as Wolverine.
After being captured by the Weapon X program to create super soldiers, Logan’s skeleton was infused with the indestructible Adamantium. However, this event caused him excruciating pain and torment.
