This love hashira was born in Azusa Ward of Tokyo during the Meiji period. When she was an infant, she picked a 33 lb stone which astounded her own brawny mother. Mitsuri is extremely eager to tie the knot, so much so that she dyed her thick braids to black in order to look ‘normal’. Primarily, she joins the Demon Slayer corps to find herself a spouse who would be stronger than her, which is a herculean task given her own enormous physical strength. 

Nonetheless, she is terribly remorseful of joining the corps. In order to rid herself of this guilt, she begins eating less and less in an attempt to fit in. Moreover, her infantile personality drives her to over-react in certain situations.
